We just finished a large commercial campaign for a new vampire cell phone video game called 'Third Eye'. It utilizes augmented reality and facial recognition technologies while the gamer interacts with other people in real-time.
The client needed three different videos to promote the game; a web viral-style video, a traditional promotional commercial, and an animated in-game video. Working with many of our trusted crew, we just finished the package and we're pleased with the results. The videos will be online shortly. There is a link below to the game's website.

I'm really excited about the Crash Faster music video we shot over the weekend. The concept comes from a science fiction short film I wrote. We shot the first two days in the snow in Big Bear this weekend. The shoot was hard to say the least but we got some very impressive footage.
We were fortunate to work with some of our favorite crew again but this was our first time working with actor Samuel Child. Now that the exteriors shoots are taken care of, we have to raise a budget to shoot the interiors. We'll be using Kickstarter to gather the finishing funds. I'm curious to see how well this new fund-raising site works out for us. (more...)

Last Monday Blake and I directed a commercial for a new 3rd party iPad product called 'contact pads'. The piece is a throwback to the 1980's involving 8-bit video games, new wave haircuts, and an exploding TV. All in all, this was an extremely fun shoot.
We were fortunate to shoot on a sound stage with a terrific cast and crew. We built a living room strait out of the 80's featuring a Rubik's cube, Apple IIe computer set up, and dated wood paneling/carpet. Art director Mark Fenlason fabricated this incredible modified Duck Hunt gun. The commercial was shot with the Canon 7D at 24 and 60 fps. Our complicated VFX shot involving the explosion is being put together now.

My feature documentary 'TRUTH IN NUMBERS' a documentary looking at Wikipedia played at the American Cinematheque in LA. We did a thought-provoking Q & A as always and Andrew Lih, author of The Wikipedia Revolution moderated. It's been interesting to see how the film has been received here in the US.
The DVD is now available through Amazon and NetFlix. For more information on the movie, please visit: . Truth In Numbers
